THE SELECTION METHOD

Product judgement starts with better questions

Sakura product records are designed to help a specialist retailer frame a buying decision. They are not rankings, investment opinions or promises of supply.

FIVE CHECKS

What earns a place in the retail edit

Each check keeps the product page useful without pretending that a static website can replace current trade confirmation.

  1. 01

    ID

    Identity must be unambiguous

The Japanese product code stays visible beside the product name, especially where translations or regional naming conventions differ.

  2. 02

    ROLE

    The store decides the role

A product is not automatically right for every retailer. The useful question is whether it supports a specific shelf, customer group or editorial feature.

  3. 03

    RANGE

Products should relate to one another

The selection considers whether a release can sit within a coherent Japanese sealed range instead of becoming an isolated listing with no retail context.

  4. 04

    CHECK

    Current evidence outranks archive imagery

Official reference material helps identify a release. Product and packing evidence for the specific enquiry must be requested separately.

  5. 05

    ASK

    Unknowns remain visible

The public page does not substitute assumptions for current availability, quantities, commercial terms or shipment details. Those facts belong in the direct enquiry.

WHAT THE EDIT DOES

It helps a retailer prepare a focused question

It identifies a release, records a retail-planning prompt and shows which facts should be reconfirmed. It does not declare a product suitable for a particular business or guarantee that it can be supplied on a particular basis.

APPLY THE METHOD

Turn four product records into one coherent brief

Compare the role, range relationship and evidence needs across the selection. Remove a product if you cannot explain what it contributes to your store edit.
