ASSORTMENT PLANNING

Build the shelf logic before building the order

A useful buying brief says more than which sets are popular. It explains how each product supports your store, which products belong together and what must be confirmed before you proceed.

THE FOUR-PART BRIEF

Give the wholesale desk enough context to answer clearly

These prompts do not lock you into an order. They make the first availability and quotation discussion more precise.

  1. 01

    Store context

Describe where the products will be sold, the market you serve and whether Japanese sealed TCG is already an established part of the range.

  2. 02

    Product roles

Mark each code as a feature, an established reference, a companion listing or a product you are testing with your audience.

  3. 03

    Range shape

Explain whether you are building one focused story or a broader Japanese section. This makes the target list easier to discuss as one assortment.

  4. 04

    Enquiry requirements

Add destination, intended quantities and the product or packing evidence you need before reviewing a formal quotation.

A WORKING EXAMPLE

Write decisions, not assumptions

A strong brief might say that one code will anchor a feature, another will broaden the Japanese section, and a third will be considered only if current product evidence and the quoted buying format suit the store.

  • Use exact product codes beside localized names
  • Separate preferred quantities from confirmed supply
  • State the delivery country at the start
  • List the evidence required before acceptance

FROM EDIT TO ENQUIRY

Keep product choice and commercial confirmation separate

The selection pages help you decide what to ask about. Current availability, quantities, pricing, payment, packing and shipment terms are then confirmed through direct communication and the applicable quotation or invoice.
